Scary & Mysterious Animals You've Never Heard Of

Don’t think of cartoons as being for kids

Most of us have heard of some creatures like the Yeti or the abominable snowman. But we recently came across many mysterious and scary animals that we’ve never heard of and wanted to share with you. Let us know in the comments what you think about this list.

#1 Goatman

We have followed some incredible stories from Maryland in the US. Most of them revolve around the story of a goathearder that tracked and murdered a bunch of teenagers that ran over his goats.

The Goatman is usually found chasing people and removing the heads of dogs.

#2 Nightcrawlers

Fresno Nightcrawlers were caught on video for the first time in 2007. They were capture by someone accidentally. The Nightcrawler on the video appears humanoid with two long legs, no arms, a small head and two eyes. These nightcrawlers have also been observed on security tapes in Yosemite National Park.

#3 Loveland Frog

These cryptids are part human, part frog. There sightings were most frequent between 1950 and 1975. Some of the sightings have been misreported or unnecessarily exaggerated, for example: the news said that a humanoid frog rowed a bike and smoked, but the police officer said the frog simply crawled across the road and looked at the officer. So I guess we will never know.

#4 Giant Carnivorous Bats

These creatures are probably where the dracula stories come from. Ahools are the name given to gigantic carnivorous bats. These bats are said to inhabit parts of Indonesia. Many sightings are dismissed as wishful imagination, but others claim that the Ahool is very real, and prowling.

#5 The Altamaha Ha River Monster

A secluded Lower-Muskogee tribe often spoke of a creature they called the Altamaha-ha. It is said to be an alligator-like reptilian beast, around 20-30 feet long, gray or green in color with a whitish-yellow underbelly, and with front flippers instead of legs, a powerful tail, a bony armored back, very large eyes, and an oversized mouth full of sharp teeth. One of the first sightings of this amazing but scary creature is from 1830.
